As the Physical Security Specialist (Senior) , you will provide senior-level physical security support to a Department of Defense customer supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office mission.

Bring your advanced security experience, leadership presence, and mission focus to help strengthen physical security programs, facility operations, documentation, compliance efforts, and customer support.

In this role, you will help safeguard personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, and information through the execution and oversight of physical security programs, facility accreditation activities, access control processes, emergency planning, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure compliance with Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security requirements while supporting mission-critical operations.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide senior-level support for physical security activities, documentation, facility security processes, and action tracking.


  • Manage and oversee activities designed to prevent unauthorized access to personnel, equipment, materials, and information, and safeguard them against espionage, sabotage, terrorism, damage, and criminal activity.


  • Provide guidance and documentation supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community Directive compliance requirements.


  • Maintain and update the Occupant Emergency Plan, Criticality Assessment, Program Evacuation Plan, and security portions of the Continuity of Operations Plan.


  • Review physical security documentation, reports, trackers, and correspondence for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.


  • Support secure area accreditation activities from pre-construction through de-accreditation.


  • Maintain and track F-35 JPO-sponsored facility accreditation letters.


  • Complete and maintain Fixed Facility Checklists and assist with annual facility inspections.


  • Coordinate with appropriate organizations for construction activities and facility modifications.


  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and document results.


  • Document and maintain construction progress and related security activities.


  • Coordinate and maintain Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection plans.


  • Manage, track, and provide required Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection training.


  • Coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders to support physical security requirements, resolve issues, and manage suspense actions.


  • Support meetings, inspections, assessments, data calls, briefings, and leadership updates related to physical security.


  • Identify process gaps, risk areas, and opportunities for continuous improvement.


  • Provide guidance to team members regarding documentation standards, customer expectations, and recurring security support actions.


  • Provide alarm response support and situation-dictated response actions.


  • Schedule alarm maintenance and coordinate semi-annual alarm testing.


  • Manage facility access control processes, including key issuance, inventory management, badge control systems, security containers, and combination management.


  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:

  • This position is on-site.


  • Must be able to work in the Arlington, Virginia office Monday through Friday during normal business hours.


  • U.S. Citizenship.


  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.


  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline.


  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.


  • Experience supporting physical security, facility security, access control, inspections, assessments, or related Department of Defense security functions.


  • Ability to obtain the Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one year of hire.


Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications & Clearance

  • Prior experience working in a secure facility.


  • Prior experience working in a physical security countermeasure environment.


  • Current and active Secret Clearance preferred.


  • Current and active Top Secret Clearance preferred.


  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense for security operations, compliance programs, and facility security requirements.


  • Strong ability to coordinate with government and contractor stakeholders in classified environments.


Additional Information

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required.


  • Work is performed on-site in Arlington, Virginia.


  • Occasional support outside normal business hours may be required to support inspections, alarm response activities, testing, emergencies, or mission requirements.
