Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies Company, seeking a Senior Associate, Cyber Intelligence. Under general supervision, the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for classified information system (IS). Reporting to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) the ISSO works in very close collaboration with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM). The ISSO shall ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with Cognizant Security Agency (CSA) approved IS security policies and procedures. The ISSO plays an active role in monitoring a system and its environment of operation, managing, and controlling changes to the system, and assessing the security impact of those changes to further advise the ISSM and FSO.

This position will report directly to the site Facility Security Officer (FSO) and may assist security management with the preparation of facility accreditation packages and site-specific security plans, including, but not limited to physical security requirements and other assignments as needed. The ISSO may also be required to assist security management in the maintenance and accountability of electronic communication equipment and additional document control.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ensure information systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with approved security policies, procedures, authorization packages, and government-issued Authorizations to Operate (ATOs).
  • Support continuous monitoring activities to ensure compliance with system security requirements and authorization standards.
  • Collect, review, and analyze audit records across multiple information system platforms, and report discrepancies or issues as required.
  • Ensure users have the appropriate security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and awareness of security responsibilities prior to granting access to systems.
  • Report security-related incidents to the ISSM, FSO, or other appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinate and document changes to hardware, software, and firmware with IT and security personnel prior to implementation.
  • Notify appropriate security leadership of changes that may affect system authorization or compliance status.
  • Monitor system recovery activities to ensure security controls and protections are properly restored and functioning as intended.
  • Maintain current system security documentation and ensure access is limited to properly authorized individuals.
  • Support development, maintenance, and implementation of system security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with vulnerability identification, risk mitigation, corrective action tracking, and remediation planning.
  • Maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address system weaknesses and track corrective actions.
  • Support security compliance efforts in accordance with applicable government and contractual requirements, including NISPOM, NIST SP 800-53, and DAG as applicable.
  • Participate in periodic security assessments, compliance reviews, self-inspections, and remediation activities.
  • Support information system security education, training, and awareness initiatives.
  • May serve as a compliance advisory member on the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Attend technical and security training relevant to assigned responsibilities.
  • Obtain and maintain required access to government compliance and authorization systems, including eMASS or other applicable tools.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience supporting information system security, compliance, auditing, or related cybersecurity functions.
  • Working knowledge of government security requirements, system authorization processes, and continuous monitoring practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across technical and administrative teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and controlled information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, NIST SP 800-53, DAAPM, JSIG, and related security frameworks.
  • Experience with audit review, vulnerability management, POA&M tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Experience using eMASS or similar government authorization and compliance systems.
  • Knowledge of system change management and Configuration Control Board processes.
  • DoD 8570.01-M certification at Level II or higher preferred, such as Security+ or CISSP.
