This position requires an ACTIVE DoD security clearance. Applicants who do not currently hold an active clearance will not be considered.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the maintenance and reliability of complex electronic systems, working alongside engineers and technicians to help ensure equipment remains operational and meets performance requirements.

About the role:


As an Entry-Level Electronic Systems Maintenance Technician, you will support the maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and restoration of complex electronic equipment. Working onsite in Wallops Island, Virginia, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, technicians, and government personnel to resolve technical issues, conduct equipment testing, and maintain system reliability. Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic equipment and associated subsystems.

  • Assess, troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve hardware and system-level faults using technical documentation and diagnostic tools.

  • Conduct operational testing and verification following maintenance activities to confirm equipment meets performance requirements.

  • Document maintenance actions, troubleshooting activities, discrepancies, and equipment status in accordance with established procedures.

  • Support scheduled maintenance periods, system upgrades, and equipment installations.

  • Collaborate with engineers, government personnel, and fellow technicians to resolve technical issues.

  • Maintain compliance with established safety, security, and quality assurance procedures.

  • Assist in identifying equipment reliability improvements and recommending corrective actions when appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on electronic equipment or comparable complex technical systems.

  • Experience diagnosing hardware, electronic, or integrated system faults using technical documentation and test equipment.

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, maintenance procedures, and engineering documentation.

  • Experience documenting maintenance actions and following established maintenance processes.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.




Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • Experience supporting complex electronic, industrial, or other mission-critical technical systems.

  • Familiarity with formal maintenance procedures and technical documentation.

  • Experience supporting equipment installation, integration, or testing activities.

  • Prior military technical service or equivalent defense contractor experience.

  • Experience working in a government or defense environment.

  • Familiarity with configuration management and quality assurance processes.




Education and Certification Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.

  • Relevant military technical training may be substituted for formal education where applicable.




Citizenship and Clearance Requirements:


  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • No dual citizenship.

  • Active Secret clearance required.

  • Active Top Secret clearance preferred.




Location/Address:


  • Onsite.

  • Wallops Island, Virginia.




Travel & Passport:


  • Less than 10% travel.

  • Primarily domestic travel for occasional technical meetings, support, or training.




Work Environment:


  • Work will be performed onsite and at government facilities as required. Travel may be necessary for technical coordination, training, and other business needs.
