Senior Electronic Systems Maintenance Technician

Wallops Island, Virginia

This position requires an ACTIVE DoD security clearance. Applicants who do not currently hold an active clearance will not be considered.

In this role, you’ll contribute to the sustainment and operational readiness of complex electronic systems, working alongside engineers and technical personnel to deliver reliable solutions in support of national defense.

About the role:


As a Senior Electronic Systems Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of complex integrated systems. Working onsite in Wallops Island, Virginia, you will perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, system monitoring, and technical support for electronic systems and associated training and test equipment. Your work will help ensure complex hardware and software remain operational, reliable, and ready to support testing, training, and system modernization efforts. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced technical professionals and engineers supporting advanced government systems.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic systems and associated equipment in accordance with approved technical documentation.

  • Assess, troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve hardware, software, and system-level faults affecting equipment performance.

  • Monitor, manage, and maintain the operational readiness of complex system configurations.

  • Execute organizational-level maintenance activities while maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.

  • Support system testing, operational verification, and readiness activities for integrated electronic systems and associated equipment.

  • Coordinate with government personnel, engineers, and other maintenance technicians to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable maintenance procedures, technical manuals, configuration management requirements, and safety standards.

  • Support system availability by identifying maintenance trends and recommending improvements to reliability and sustainment activities.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electronic systems.

  • Experience performing documented organizational-level maintenance on integrated systems and associated equipment.

  • Experience monitoring and managing the operation of multiple system configurations and hardware variants.

  • Experience supporting system configurations involving technical modifications and configuration-specific procedures.

  • Experience supporting integrated test, training, or simulation equipment configurations.

  • Ability to analyze complex system failures and restore operational capability.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within an integrated government and contractor team.




Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • Prior military or government experience supporting complex electronic systems.

  • Experience supporting technical testing, evaluation, training, or system readiness activities.

  • Familiarity with maintenance documentation, technical manuals, and configuration management processes.

  • Experience supporting system integration or modernization efforts.

  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense or other government technical programs.

  • Active Security+ or other relevant DoD technical certification.




Education and Certification Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field.

  • Four (4) additional years of directly related electronic systems maintenance experience may be substituted in lieu of the required bachelor's degree.




Citizenship and Clearance requirements:


  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • No dual citizenship

  • Active Secret clearance required

  • Active Top Secret clearance preferred

  • Wallops Island, Virginia




Travel & Passport:


  • Under 10% travel.

  • Primarily CONUS travel in support of government meetings, training, or technical requirements.




Work Environment: PMAT offices as needed. In some cases, work in a government facility may be required. Travel may be required for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially for business development.
