Mid-Level / Senior Level | $110,000 - $130,000 | Travel Up to 10% | Active Secret Clearance Required
Support the development and delivery of advanced modeling and simulation capabilities by designing and maintaining secure, automated DevSecOps pipelines that enable rapid, reliable software deployment. Join a collaborative engineering team responsible for modernizing software delivery through containerization, infrastructure automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices supporting mission-critical defense systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that enable secure, repeatable, and automated software builds, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain DevOps infrastructure supporting distributed modeling and simulation environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
- Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Podman, and related container runtime technologies.
- Collaborate daily with software developers, systems engineers, and test engineers to improve software integration, build reliability, and deployment efficiency.
- Integrate automated unit, integration, acceptance, security, and code quality testing into the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines, application performance, and system health while proactively identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain secure credential, identity, and access management solutions supporting automated deployments and non-interactive service accounts.
- Ensure configuration baselines, security controls, and compliance requirements are consistently applied across development, integration, and production environments.
- Support Agile development teams by improving release velocity, deployment reliability, and overall software quality.
- Document DevOps processes, automation workflows, and deployment procedures while contributing to engineering best practices.
- Support occasional travel (up to 10%) to collaborate with program teams and support mission requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience; OR
- Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
- PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related experience.
- Active, in-scope DoD Secret security clearance required at time of application.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines supporting automated software delivery.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or similar container runtimes.
- Experience deploying and managing applications within containerized environments.
- Experience integrating automated testing into software development pipelines.
- Experience using DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Bamboo, Jira, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, or comparable technologies.
- Hands-on experience administering Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, automation, and scripting skills supporting software development and deployment.
- Ability to travel up to 10% in support of program requirements.
- Extensive experience administering Linux systems in production or production-like environments.
- Strong proficiency with shell scripting and infrastructure automation.
- Experience implementing automated software testing, static analysis, and security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with virtualization technologies and hypervisor-based environments.
- Experience implementing secure credential and identity management solutions, including service accounts, credential managers, Keycloak, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration platforms.
- Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development environments.
- Experience implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies using Gherkin, Cucumber, or similar testing frameworks.
- Experience supporting secure software development within classified or mission-critical environments.
