Job Description
Innovien is looking for an experienced Separation Dynamics Engineer to lead a discipline on one of the most important missile defense programs in the country. The program is racing toward CDR, and the team needs a true separation dynamics authority, someone who can walk in, own the hardest multi-body problems, and build the next generation of Adams analysts underneath them. You'd carry real influence here: setting technical direction, representing the discipline in program reviews, and mentoring a team that's hungry to learn from someone who's done this at scale. If you've spent a career mastering multi-body dynamics and you're ready for the seat where your judgment is greatly valued, this is it!
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years performing rigid body/multi-body dynamics simulation, with deep expertise in separation, deployment, and pyrotechnic/shock event analysis
• 5+ years running and troubleshooting multi-body dynamics models in MSC Adams (not Adams/Car), serving as the team's go-to expert on mechanism and separation dynamics modeling
• Solid grounding in NX Nastran (or MSC Nastran) for the structural/FEA work that feeds separation dynamics analysis
• Track record leading or mentoring a team of dynamics analysts, including running peer reviews and providing technical oversight
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering required; Master's preferred
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Track record building multi-body dynamics models and correlating them against physical test data on aerospace, missile, or spacecraft programs
• Exposure to LS-DYNA for supplementary dynamic event analysis
• Experience presenting analysis results and technical recommendations to program stakeholders and government customers
• Prior formal leadership role overseeing a separation or multi-body dynamics discipline team
• Background on missile defense or launch vehicle programs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as the technical authority for separation and multi-body dynamics analysis across program flight hardware
• Lead peer reviews and mentor junior engineers on Adams modeling, mechanisms, and separation event analysis
• Guide model correlation efforts against physical test data across the team
• Represent the discipline in program-level design reviews and stakeholder meetings
• Balance hands-on analysis with team leadership as the team's technical lead
