Position: USASOC The Service Support Subject Matter Expert supports
Type: Full-time
Location: Fort Bragg, NC
Travel: Must be available for CONUS and OCONUS travel
**Contingent Upon Award**
Position Summary: The Service Support Subject Matter Expert supports the design, development, planning, coordination, and execution of Mission Command Exercises conducted by the Special Operations Mission Training Center. This position contributes operational expertise to exercise scenario development and integrates service support considerations into training environments to enhance realism and operational relevance. The Service Support Subject Matter Expert works with Mission Command Exercise personnel, exercise developers, simulation staff, and training audiences to ensure exercise objectives support collective training requirements. This role directly contributes to mission readiness by helping prepare Special Operations Forces headquarters and staffs for operational employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support Mission Command Exercise planning, preparation, coordination, and execution.
• Assist in the development and integration of operational scenarios supporting exercise objectives.
• Formulate and incorporate service support considerations within exercise environments.
• Support design and development of Mission Readiness Exercise products and training materials.
• Coordinate with exercise planners, subject matter experts, and simulation personnel.
• Analyze exercise requirements and recommend improvements to training realism and operational relevance.
• Participate in exercise execution activities supporting headquarters-level training audiences.
• Provide operational expertise related to support functions within Special Operations Forces environments.
• Assist with exercise research, preparation, scenario development, and after-action support activities.
• Support contractor and Government personnel in achieving Mission Command Exercise objectives.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Associate degree required.
• Five years of related military experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Two years of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Command Exercises may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Candidate must have completed one of the following:
• United States Military Officer Education System course above entry-level training, such as:
o Captain Career Course
o Intermediate Level Education
o Basic Warrant Officer Course
o Warrant Officer Advanced Course
o Equivalent military schooling
• Or Graduate of one of the following United States military Noncommissioned Officer Education System courses:
o Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course
o First Sergeant Course
o Sergeants Major Course
• Experience: Assignment to Special Operations Forces (Special Forces, Military Information Support Operations, Civil Affairs, Ranger Regiment, Special Operations Aviation, Special Mission units), or assignment to one of the following: Military Intelligence, Logistics Corps, Field Artillery. (Equivalent assignments within other Department of War military branches apply).
• Ability to formulate and integrate exercise scenarios into the Special Operations Mission Training Center training environment and exercises.
• Working knowledge of operational planning and collective training concepts
• Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
• One year of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Command Exercises.
All Contractor Personnel Requirements:
• Maintain a minimum Secret security clearance throughout contract performance.
• Comply with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual security requirements.
• Complete Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing requirements as applicable.
• Complete Threat Awareness and Reporting Program training annually if holding a clearance.
• Complete Anti-Terrorism Level I Awareness Training.
• Complete Operations Security Awareness Training and annual refresher training.
• Complete Department of Defense Cyber Awareness training if requiring system access.
• Comply with installation access, identity verification, and force protection requirements/
• Support security requirements involving classified information and safeguarding responsibilities.
Physical Ability to:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in classroom, exercise, operations center, and training environments.
• Ability to travel to support training activities when required.
• Ability to operate computers and Government-provided information systems.
• Ability to participate in long-duration planning sessions and exercise events.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
