Database Administrator — Journeyman
Start Date: September 1, 2026 - This is a fully funded opportunity.
Clearance: T3 investigation/clearance required-Secret

Position Summary
Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Database Administrator (Journeyman) to support a mission-critical federal database environment for a potential opportunity. The DBA will perform daily database operations, monitoring, maintenance, ETL support, SQL query support, data quality validation, interface validation, and Tier 1–2 troubleshooting. This is a remote opportunity.
- Perform daily database operations, monitoring, and routine maintenance.
- Support Oracle and/or SQL Server database environments.
- Support daily ETL processes for reporting and data warehouse activities.
- Develop, run, and troubleshoot SQL queries.
- Validate data quality and support interface reconciliation.
- Generate data quality reports and assist with data quality controls.
- Support SFTP-based data transfer processes.
- Provide Tier 1–2 help desk support for database, reporting, data, and interface issues.
- Support MicroStrategy or similar BI/reporting environments.
- Maintain database documentation and support approved change and release processes.
- 3+ years of relevant database administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Experience with ETL processes, SQL queries, data validation, and SFTP processes.
- Knowledge of MicroStrategy or similar business intelligence/reporting tools.
- Experience supporting production operations, troubleshooting, and help desk tickets.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with technical teams, program staff, and government stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experience supporting federal, DoD, or mission-critical systems.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud, SQL Server data warehouses, Oracle Data Guard, or reporting environments.
- Familiarity with RMF, ATO, STIGs, CUI/PII protections, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Secret (T3) investigation/clearance required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required DoD credentials, including CAC access.

Salary range $75,000 to $89,000 annually
