Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a professional to play an important role supporting custom application development for a Security Operations Center (SOC) and associated cyber analysts. This role is critical to enhancing the security and operational effectiveness of enterprise networks through the development and modernization of mission-focused applications. As a , you will contribute to the enhancement of existing applications while helping design and develop new solutions in a collaborative Agile environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong Python expertise and a passion for building secure, scalable applications.

- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom software applications supporting cybersecurity and security operations functions.
- Develop feature enhancements and resolve defects across multiple existing applications.
- Code primarily in Python and JavaScript while adhering to software engineering best practices.
- Modernize and refactor legacy applications to improve maintainability, scalability, and code reuse.
- Support the transition from a waterfall development methodology to an Agile-based development framework.
- Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver mission-critical capabilities.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Assist in the design and development of a new Python-based application while supporting four existing applications.
- Contribute to containerized application deployments and development processes within Linux environments.
- Certification (IAT Level II) - one of the following certs is required
- CySA+
- Security+
- CCNA Security
- GICSP
- GSEC
- SSCP
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
- Minimum of 3 years of Python development experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a small Agile development team.
- Experience supporting existing applications while contributing to new software development efforts.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
- Experience with React and/or NextJS frameworks.
- Experience developing GraphQL-based applications and APIs.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in containerized environments.
- Linux development and administration experience.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications and implementing reusable software components.
- $130,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience)
