Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a to join a leading advanced engineering and research organization supporting next-generation accelerator and pulsed power technologies. The Mechanical CAD Designer will collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop detailed mechanical designs, create 3D models and manufacturing drawings, and support product development from concept through fabrication.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical drawings for advanced engineering systems using PTC Creo.
• Partner with engineers and scientists to translate design concepts into production-ready manufacturing documentation.
• Interpret engineering requirements and prepare detailed drawings in accordance with GD&T standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and project schedules are achieved.
• Manage engineering documentation, revisions, and approvals utilizing Windchill PDMLink and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Support design reviews, configuration management activities, and continuous product improvements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Mechanical CAD Design, CADD, or Product Design.
• Proficiency creating 3D solid models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using .
• Experience utilizing , Product Data Management (PDM), and Engineering Change processes.
• Strong understanding of and mechanical design principles.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, configuration management, or Model-Based Design (MBD) initiatives preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a .
$30 - $40/hr depending on experience
