Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Electro-Mechanical Technicians for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.Duties may include (but are not limited to):
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; 1st and 2nd based on business needs (1st: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM ; 2nd: 2:30 PM - 12:30 AM).

- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- More than 3 years of experience reading blueprints, working with manufacturing plans, and reviewing instructions for aerospace manufacturing processes
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.Duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
- Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
- Use precision calibrated tools - torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
- Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
- Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
- Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
- Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
- More than 3 years of experience in electronics, electro-mechanical and printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
- More than 3 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
- More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
- More than 3 years of experience with soldering
- More than 5 years of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
- More than 3 years of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
- More than 3 years of experience working in a Clean Room environment
- More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Currently hold a IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
- More than 3 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
- Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks
