As a SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST (CCMD) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • This position will serve as the Lead for the Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) Team under the Portfolio Integration Office within the Research and Development Directorate (RD). Engages with all stakeholders regarding relevant DTRA Science and Technology (S&T) capability development efforts, including all related business and staff supporting functions, which helps prioritize the alignment of DTRA's $1B portfolio of S&T investments against prioritized warfighter requirements.
  • Conducts research and fact-finding missions to identify opportunities, information, and required feedback. Works with RD Leadership and Departments to connect and reconcile internal and external efforts to internal DTRA stakeholders; and responsively and comprehensively address inquiries. Consolidates inputs for action, leveraging multiple network domains, classifications levels, and tools such as the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2).
  • Further develops and maintains an understanding of other DoD and U.S. Agency S&T programs to identify potential collaborative opportunities and to avoid duplication of effort with DTRA's S&T portfolio.
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with advisors, staff, and other stakeholders focused on ensuring mutual understanding of unique CWMD requirements, and DTRA's CWMD capability development efforts and competencies.
  • Coordinates with DTRA stakeholders to ensure RD activities and objectives are understood and represented in Agency-level interactions.

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level within the DTRA agency:
  • Communicating technical, procedural, and programmatic issues to technical and non-technical audiences of varying position levels and background
  • Informing managers and senior leadership of findings and to create sound recommendations for senior leadership actions: Utilizing Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) and navigate agency staffing processes
  • Utilizing knowledge on Services, CCMDs and/or other Government Agencies to support their CWMD needs and in-depth knowledge of DTRA's organization, missions, and S&T programs

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
