MITRE's Cyber-Physical Systems Division seeks a Business Operations Admin who is a motivated and creative individual with a high sense of accountability to join our McLean office. This is an excellent opportunity to provide advanced, diversified, and proactive business operations support. The business operations intermediate will work closely with the Division Director, Chief Engineer, Operations Manager, and senior staff to ensure the efficient implementation and execution of division operations, budget, objectives and key results and other operational issues.


  • Develop a strong sense of ongoing activities and the interdependencies among assignments, meetings, and products. Anticipate, analyze and proactively react to changes in priorities and tasks; apply strong self-organization and management, and demonstrate proactive initiative and follow-through on a broad range of administrative actions. Proactively track Division deadlines, as required.
  • Take ownership of division wide activities, events, and battle rhythm including engagement across the division and with external parties. Ensure effective time management in prioritizing division activities.
  • Ensure effective coordination of divisions operational logistics including supporting effective travel execution and financial management. This includes the support of efficient travel arrangements as well as ensuring the timely completion of expense reports and closeout documents.
  • Coordinate with division operations manager and administrative staff to ensure efficient task execution.
  • Planning, coordinating, and supporting a variety of meetings, presentations, and employee engagement events, including arranging for venue, catering, clearance validating, duplication of materials, audio-visual needs, etc.
  • Ensuring the capture, assignment and execution of action items assigned in division meetings and activities actions as needed.
  • Assisting in the logistics coordination of recruiting new talent to CPS.
  • Develop, review, and edit strategic goals, strategy and implementation documentation, division presentations and other documentation; independently research and analyze associated issues and/or compile materials needed for presentation and/or decision-making purposes.
  • Ensure the operational support and efficient execution of the office environment including scheduling resources, ordering supplies and processing purchase orders on behalf of the division
  • Maintain awareness of Corporate and Sector-specific operations, administrative, security and personnel policies and procedures and work in a collaborate team atmosphere. Provide mentoring and training on new initiatives, share current practices and new policies.
  • Support division leadership in the execution of sensitive operational tasks and using discretion in handling personnel matters.
  • Ensuring staff complete mandatory training modules: Security, Ethics & Timecard, etc.
  • Tracking and facilitating timecard (TRS), computer (DTS), office moves, etc. compliance.



  • High School Diploma, and 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent in education, or 3 years' experience with an associate degree, or 2 years' experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience working with senior managers and operations for large teams.
  • Proficiency in office tools (i.e., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • This position requires the candidate obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements for a clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site



  • Previous experience in a technical oriented organization
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and strong communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize in a resource constrained environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under time and work constraints with minimal supervision and tactfully with all levels of management.
  • Experienced with budget formulation and execution monitoring
  • Experienced with the development of strategies and objective management
  • Experienced with face-to-face and virtual meeting and event planning.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to deal with ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to support diverse backgrounds.
  • Exercise independent judgment consistent with corporate objectives, philosophies, and broad policies.
  • Demonstrate superior attention to detail.
