Job Description
POSITION: Material Handler/Inventory Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION: As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate warehouse equipment such as order pickers, cranes, and cherry pickers to build and load/unload materials
- Utilize warehouse management system to track inventory and locate materials within the warehouse
- Follow all OSHA guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisor and team members to meet production goals and maintain efficient workflow
- Perform heavy lifting as required to move materials and products throughout the warehouse
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Individual shall have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and shall have experience outlined below.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: The experience shall include three (3) years+ experience in warehouse operations, performing physical inventories, using AIT to scan barcoded items, inventory accuracy management, and setting up storage locations. Relevant experience in identification of materials and working knowledge of NAVY Enterprise Resource Planning is preferred.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Shall possess a favorably adjudicated PSI at a T3 level.
