Job Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data pipelines that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives. This position will work closely with business analysts, product owners, developers, and stakeholders to transform authoritative transactional data into high-quality, user-ready datasets supporting thousands of end users and multiple production systems.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
Extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple enterprise data sources into data lakes and data warehouses.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.
Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and technical teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Support production data environments and resolve data quality, integrity, and performance issues.
Improve pipeline efficiency through automation and optimization techniques.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, governance, and security across enterprise platforms.
Document data flows, technical designs, and engineering processes.
Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical reviews.
Coordinate tasks across multiple organizations while maintaining project schedules and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Minimum 3 years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise ETL/ELT solutions.
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting data pipeline maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Minimum 3 years of experience using Databricks or similar modern data engineering platforms.
Strong SQL development and data manipulation skills.
Experience with Python, Java, or Scala programming.
Experience designing data pipelines supporting data lakes and enterprise data warehouses.
Experience translating customer requirements into functional technical solutions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Experience integrating data pipelines with machine learning or AI workflows.
Experience with business intelligence platforms such as:
Tableau
Microsoft Power BI
SAP Business Objects
Experience with Databricks, iQuery, or similar enterprise data access tools.
Familiarity with JIRA or other Agile project management tools.
Experience supporting U.S. Air Force logistics or defense data environments.
Experience optimizing enterprise-scale data processing solutions.
