The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).

- Investigating and analyzing General Ledger posting errors, identifying root causes and determining appropriate corrective actions or journal entries.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including finance, procurement, and IT to understand end to end transaction flows and how upstream activity impacts GL accuracy.
- Drafting and updating GL-related documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, and process white papers, ensuring clarity and compliance with internal controls.
- Documenting GL reconciliation steps, error resolution actions, and financial impacts to support audit requirements and continuous process improvement.
- Developing and maintaining GL-focused user guides, FAQs, and training materials to support accurate posting procedures and reduce recurring ledger discrepancies.
- Providing training and support to end users on GL functionality, month-end close activities, and best practices for accurate posting and error prevention.
- Delivering strong customer service and effectively managing occasional high-pressure situations, such as month-end close deadlines or urgent GL corrections.
- Directing and reviewing the work of Senior Associates, ensuring accuracy of GL analyses, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Communicating progress and status of GL-related tasks and projects to the Team Lead and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university with a major in Accounting
- Minimum 6 years of progressive, relevant experience
- Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing Department of Navy General Ledger activity, including reviewing account balances, investigating abnormal postings, and ensuring alignment with federal accounting standards.
- Experience researching and resolving unmatched or out of balance transactions, ensuring proper GL posting and reconciliation.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting financial reporting, with emphasis on GL accuracy and data integrity.
- Experience interpreting and applying DFAS reporting policies and procedures related to GL support, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience utilizing DoW's Advanced Analytics (Advana) platform and DDRS for GL research, variance analysis, and data validation.
- Ability to independently research and reconcile data variances, ensuring completeness and accuracy of ledger balances.
- Experience researching and applying FASAB, OMB, and Treasury accounting and reporting requirements, particularly those impacting the General Ledger and federal financial statements.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, including advanced functions for GL analysis, reconciliation, and data validation.
- Experience with Databricks for querying, analyzing, and validating GL-related financial data.
- CPA or CPA-eligible, demonstrating strong knowledge of accounting principles relevant to GL management.
- Professional certifications such as CGFM, CDFM, CISA, or similar credentials supporting federal financial management and internal controls.
