Inventory Management Specialist

• Manages the receipt, storage, replenishment, pricing, and disposal of specialized military commodities (Classes II, III, IV, V, VII, and IX).
• Investigates inventory discrepancies to recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Performs strategic and long-range planning on all phases of supply management workload to maintain understanding of the purchased material, supplies, and equipment needed to support all mission requirements.
• Uses unique software for inventory management, control asset movements and other supply actions associated with stock control functions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Determining inventory accuracy through reconciliation analysis techniques; 2. Using automated inventory management systems to maintains current stock records and reconcile discrepancies; 3. Conducting supply control studies; and 4. Analyzing information to provide supply information to customers, prepare reports, and recommend actions in implementing policies and procedures. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
