Job Description
- Operational programs are diverse and complex and for all Services.
- Formulates and evaluates policies and directives from higher headquarters and advises on action necessary to establish the framework of the organization policies.
- Identifies and monitors actual or potential issues that require Command decision and recommends a specific course of action that will resolve the issue or correct deficient performance.
- Provides leadership to office and directorate chiefs in determining priorities to ensure expeditious accomplishment of mission operations.
- Monitors and evaluates programs and operations to ensure plans are followed to meet objectives and goals.
- Concentrates attention upon issues, which inhibit the attainment of objectives and provides disposition of those matters not requiring the Commander's attention.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 25% may be required.
- This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
- Signing of a DA Form 5019 acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
- In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at assigned proficiency levels.
- This position is designated Tier 5, Critical or Non-Critical Sensitive, High Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes execution of strategic mission planning in complex environments; leading organizational teams, developing personnel, and successfully mitigating operational risks while enforcing rigorous standards; navigating complex regulatory frameworks and utilizing strong communication to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups; and making high-stakes decisions and delivering successful mission outcomes under intense operational pressure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03).
