Senior Business Analyst / Data QA Engineer — Federal Healthcare
Clearance: Active DoD Secret
Location: Remote; National Capital Region candidates preferred

Use your analytical and testing expertise to improve the quality, reliability, and usability of data supporting mission-critical federal healthcare systems.
This is a QA-focused role with business-analysis responsibilities. You will partner with engineers, analysts, product owners, and subject-matter experts to validate healthcare data, applications, reports, APIs, and integrations.
You will do more than execute predefined test cases. You will help shape test strategy, build and maintain automated tests, investigate data issues with SQL, and connect requirements to measurable validation outcomes.

What You’ll Do
Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and validation strategies.
Review user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements for clarity and testability.
Build and maintain automated tests using established tools and frameworks.
Validate data-ingestion and ETL processes by comparing source data, transformation rules, and target outputs.
Write SQL queries and joins to investigate data quality and confirm business rules.
Test healthcare data, applications, reports, APIs, and user interfaces.
Perform functional, integration, system, regression, component, and performance testing.
Maintain traceability between requirements, test coverage, defects, and delivery outcomes.
Support user-acceptance testing, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
Document findings, risks, defects, and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Help strengthen testing tools, automation practices, and data-quality processes.
What You’ll Bring
Five or more years supporting software testing, data-quality assurance, business analysis, or requirements validation in complex systems environments.
Hands-on ability to build, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests.
Background developing test plans, test cases, test scripts, user stories, or acceptance criteria.
Proficiency with SQL data-validation queries, joins, and relational databases.
Knowledge of ETL, data-integration, and source-to-target validation.
Familiarity testing applications, reports, APIs, user interfaces, and data services.
Understanding of Agile delivery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and iterative development.
Strong analytical, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, engineering, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional background.
The source role calls for at least five years across requirements, software and data-quality testing, and automated and manual testing tools, along with SQL, relational databases, Agile delivery, and strong communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Federal healthcare, military healthcare, Department of Veterans Affairs, or other government health-program background.
Knowledge of protected health information and HIPAA-aligned data practices.
Azure DevOps or a similar requirements and test-management platform.
Exposure to cloud-hosted applications, databases, and data services.
Healthcare data, reporting, API, or interoperability work.
Use of AI-assisted tools for requirements analysis, data profiling, test development, SQL validation, or defect investigation.
Residence within reasonable distance of Falls Church, Virginia, or the National Capital Region.
Work Location
This is a remote role, and regular onsite work is not expected. Candidates based within reasonable distance of Falls Church, Virginia, or the National Capital Region are preferred for occasional in-person collaboration if needed.
