We are seeking an experienced Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Technician to support operations at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing industrial control systems that support HVAC, building automation, and other mission-critical infrastructure across the installation.
As the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of HVAC equipment and associated critical infrastructure. You will support mission readiness by maintaining system performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with U.S. military standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Industrial Control Systems (ICS) supporting HVAC and building automation systems.
Monitor, calibrate, and optimize HVAC control systems to maximize equipment performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, communications, and software issues involving:
Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) to identify alarms, system faults, and operational anomalies.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement system upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, work orders, and system documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, electrical safety standards, environmental requirements, and U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense policies.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and operations personnel.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and provide after-hours support as required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, organized, and mission-ready condition.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of base operations.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum five (5) years of experience specializing in Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
Demonstrated experience supporting:
Industrial Control Systems utilizing PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms.
Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, industrial instrumentation, sensors, actuators, relays, control panels, and associated components.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial control equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the technical aptitude to quickly learn computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), building automation platforms, and enterprise software applications.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
Valid U.S. Passport preferred.
Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy requirements as outlined in the current USCENTCOM Individual and Individual-Unit Deployment Policy.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Qatar Residency Visa.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Must be capable of working in extreme environmental conditions, including high temperatures, dust, humidity, and other austere deployed environments.
Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance requirements as mission needs dictate.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work in mechanical rooms, elevated locations, and confined spaces when required.

Experience with Building Automation Systems such as Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Trane, or similar platforms.
Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, central utility plants, or industrial chilled water systems.
Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, and industrial cybersecurity best practices.
