Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
Pay Range: $101,000 – $178,135 annual base salary (final offer dependent on experience, education, skills, market conditions, and work location)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Engineer III to support the design, analysis, and testing of GN&C systems that enable spacecraft to operate in complex space environments. This role is part of a mission-focused GN&C group that designs and develops hardware, algorithms, and software for precision control of space systems, pushing the boundaries of national security and defense through advanced analytics and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong spacecraft controls experience, hands-on simulation and programming skills, and the ability to develop robust, flight-proven GN&C algorithms and flight software in a collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform spacecraft controls design, analysis, simulation, and testing activities for mission-critical space platforms.
Develop and validate GN&C algorithms and associated flight software.
Utilize simulation and programming tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C++, and Python to model, implement, and evaluate control solutions.
Apply Kalman filtering and attitude determination techniques to mission design and on-orbit performance analysis.
Support hardware integration and mission operations in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Contribute to end-to-end GN&C solutions that are rigorously simulated and validated to ensure mission success.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications (Skill Requirements)
Strong experience in spacecraft controls design, analysis, simulation, and test.
Experience with simulation and programming tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C++, and Python.
Experience applying Kalman filtering and attitude determination techniques.
Typically 3+ years of related GN&C or control systems engineering experience, supported by a relevant post?secondary degree or training.
Security / Work Authorization Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required to meet program and customer requirements.
Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills)
Experience with flight software development and autocode generation to C++.
Jitter analysis experience (highly desired).
Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications.
Mission operations experience.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
