Job Title: Loads and Dynamics Engineer – Staff (Level 4)
Location: Huntsville, AL
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Staff-level Loads and Dynamics Engineer (Level 4) to support the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program and ensure spacecraft and flight hardware can withstand the extreme environments of launch and spaceflight. This senior role focuses on structural dynamics analysis, loads and environments development, and test planning/execution for spacecraft, launch vehicles, and missile hardware. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in finite element modeling, vibroacoustic and shock analysis, and aerospace test campaigns, and will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural and dynamic requirements into the system baseline.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Perform structural dynamics analysis for spacecraft flight hardware operating in demanding launch and space environments.

Develop and maintain analytical models using in-house and commercial software to simulate vibration, shock, and mechanical loading conditions.

Conduct loads development at the component, subsystem, and system levels.

Evaluate dynamic environments including shock, vibration, and mechanism motion.

Support component and system-level testing, including vibration, modal, static, separation dynamics, and shock tests.

Analyze test data and document results in clear technical reports and presentations.

Define and integrate structural and dynamic requirements into the system baseline.

Present technical findings at design reviews, technical interchange meetings, engineering review boards, and test readiness reviews.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field.

6+ years of professional work experience performing structural dynamics analyses and loads/environments development for spacecraft, aircraft, or missiles.

Experience in finite element modeling and analysis using tools such as NX Simcenter, NASTRAN, LS?Dyna, Wave6, or equivalent.

Experience programming and using MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills)

Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering with approximately 10 years of structural dynamics and loads/environments development experience.

Expertise in vibroacoustic and shock analyses on spacecraft/launch vehicles using Wave6.

Experience planning and executing static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing for aerospace flight hardware.

Proficiency with structural dynamics rigid-body and flexible-body analyses of composite and metallic structures and mechanisms.

Proficiency in finite element modeling, modal analysis, coupled loads analysis (CLA), and model correlation/verification.

Experience leading structural dynamics analyses while collaborating effectively with adjacent disciplines in a highly integrated team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; self-motivated and able to support multiple projects concurrently.

Security / Clearance Requirement

Secret clearance required; must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
