Job Title: Systems Engineer – Senior (Next Generation Interceptor)
Location: Huntsville, AL
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full?Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team and support development of advanced missile defense technology. This role focuses on systems definition, decomposition, allocation, traceability, integration, verification/validation, analysis, and test across the full systems engineering lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with requirements, interfaces, model-based systems engineering, and major program reviews, operating under a Secret clearance in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Support major program reviews including SRR, PDR, and CDR.
Participate in specification and interface development and documentation (e.g., ICDs, interface diagrams, and data documents).
Support development of verification plans and coordinate hardware and/or software testing for requirement verification.
Contribute to systems definition, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and maintenance activities.
Support system integration across hardware, software, and mission segments.
Participate in system-level analyses in support of mission planning/execution and tests at various ranges.
Write specifications and formal, peer-reviewed technical documents.
Use requirements management and modeling tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo) to manage system requirements and architectures.
Travel occasionally (approximately 10%) to support reviews, tests, and customer engagements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
Experience and full knowledge of processes in one or more of the following areas:
Systems engineering approaches and processes.
Requirement definition, decomposition, and allocation.
Interface definition (ICDs, interface block diagrams, interface data documents).
Missile system analyses used in requirement derivation and verification.
Planning and coordinating hardware and/or software testing for verification.
System integration.
Supporting SRR, PDR, CDR.
Writing specifications and/or formal, peer?reviewed technical documents.
Using DOORS requirements management software.
Modeling with Cameo or similar MBSE tools.
At least interim Secret clearance required to start.
Eligibility and willingness to obtain a final DoD Secret clearance.
Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills)
Knowledge and experience in electrical or electro?mechanical design.
Experience working with the Missile Defense Agency.
Experience presenting at major reviews.
Hardware and software development experience.
Missile or weapon system development experience.
Experience with CONOPS or architecture development.
Support to system-level trade studies.
Requirement verification experience.
Active or current Secret security clearance.
Security / Clearance Requirement
Secret clearance required; must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
