Location: King of Prussia, PA
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full?Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 Schedule (Every other Friday off)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a late-career Electrical Component Engineer (Senior Staff, Level V) to join a specialty engineering team and lead Electrical Electronic Electromechanical (EEE) parts engineering for strategic space and defense programs. This senior technical leader will own development and execution of EEE parts management plans, evaluate new technologies, and work closely with survivability, design, test, manufacturing, government agencies, and part manufacturers to ensure components meet the harshest environment and mission-critical performance requirements. Successful applicants typically bring 12+ years of related professional experience and a strong foundation in electrical parts physics, design, and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Define and lead EEE Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture, and test.

Lead strategic approaches to selection, qualification, test, and failure analysis of EEE parts for complex systems.

Prepare technical and progress reports, develop and review specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.

Coordinate closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organizations.

Work with a broad range of electrical components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, hybrids, crystals and crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, and thermistors.

Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure component selections meet quality expectations and product performance requirements.

Partner with leadership to develop technical mentoring plans and growth opportunities for junior engineers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications

Formal coursework, training, experience, and/or knowledge in design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics, and operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, and capacitors.

Advanced knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials, and processes used in EEE parts.

Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams.

Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.).

Experience or knowledge in failure analysis, destructive physical analysis, and/or root-cause and corrective-action analysis related to EEE parts.

Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills)

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics, or related field.

Familiarity with technical requirements such as detailed specifications and program plans.

Experience leading and presenting in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR.

Advanced understanding of nuclear effects on EEE parts and ability to work closely with survivability engineers in strategic rad-hard applications.

Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements.

Advanced understanding of worst?case analysis (WCA), EEE parts derating, and end?of?life requirements.

Experience leading evaluation of current and emerging EEE part technologies for complex design packages.

Active or current Secret clearance.

Security / Clearance Requirement

Secret clearance required; must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
