Data Analyst

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Data Analyst to support the development of advanced visual analytics solutions for mission-critical systems. This role will focus on transforming structured and semi-structured data into actionable intelligence through data analysis, dashboard development, data pipeline support, and enterprise database optimization.

The ideal candidate has experience working with SQL, BI tools, statistical scripting, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts. This position requires the ability to support large-scale data analysis efforts, integrate data from multiple sources, and help deliver analytic applications used for operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Develop data analytics capabilities for desktop and web-based visual analytics applications
Query, analyze, and transform structured and semi-structured datasets to support operational intelligence
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Support the bulk analysis of relational information using visualization, graphics, and high-performance computing techniques
Assist with the development of analytic applications that convert data streams into manageable, actionable intelligence
Design, develop, and support ETL/ELT processes to move, transform, and prepare data for analysis
Work with large relational databases and support data warehouse development and maintenance
Integrate new data sources and systems into existing warehouse structures
Support data transformation, data validation, and data quality improvement activities
Develop and execute advanced data queries using SQL and related technologies
Use statistical scripting languages such as Python or R to support data analysis and automation
Refine database and warehouse performance to improve system functionality and reporting efficiency
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver analytic solutions
Support the use of open-source, COTS, and GOTS technologies in the development of data-driven applications
Document data processes, queries, pipelines, and analytic workflows

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, data engineering, or related technical work
Knowledge of advanced data querying using SQL
Experience developing dashboards or reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
Knowledge of statistical scripting using Python, R, or similar languages
Understanding of data pipelines, data transformation, and ETL/ELT processes
Experience working with relational databases and structured datasets
Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cribl
Experience building or supporting data pipelines and data transformation workflows
Experience with data warehousing concepts and enterprise database systems
Experience designing or supporting large relational databases
Familiarity with structured and semi-structured data sources
Experience supporting visual analytic applications
Background working with high-performance computing or large-scale analytics environments
Experience integrating new data sources into existing warehouse structures
