- Lead the modernization, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise Java and Python applications, including planning and executing technology stack upgrades, refactoring legacy code, implementing secure coding practices, and recommending improvements for application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Administer, upgrade, and optimize enterprise application infrastructure, including Apache Solr (clustering, Zookeeper, version upgrades, index migration, and optimization), Apache Tomcat deployments, Oracle 19c database integrations, Apache Directory Studio integrations, SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks, and Windows-based VMware environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, database, middleware, and infrastructure issues while supporting testing, validation, deployment, and production operations across multiple environments.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, database, and business stakeholders to successfully deliver modernization initiatives, coordinate upgrades with minimal operational impact, participate in code reviews, promote development best practices, and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and system configurations.
- 13+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, information technology, or a related technical field with comparable responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree may substitute for 4 years of experience; Master's degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.
- Expert-level experience developing enterprise Java applications with strong Python development experience.
- Experience developing and supporting applications on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.
- Deep expertise with Apache Solr and Zookeeper, including Solr administration, clustering, version upgrades, index migration, and optimization.
- Experience administering Apache Tomcat, integrating applications with Oracle 19c and relational databases, supporting Apache Directory Studio integrations, and maintaining SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of secure software development practices, government security compliance requirements, troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, and technical communication.

- Experience with PrimeFaces, DevSecOps practices, automated deployment pipelines, and large-scale government modernization initiatives within classified or highly regulated environments.
- Salary Range: $$150,000 - $210,000 *depending on experience*
