Scope of Work:
MCTIMS is a crucial undertaking to modernize the Marine Corps' approach to training. This initiative seeks to replace a 20-year-old legacy system with a state-of-the-art, cloud-based solution serving the entire Marine Corps user base. The system centralizes data from various Marine Corps sources, creating a single source of truth for course information, completions, and sustainment. It manages course development and delivery, generates insightful reports for decision-makers, and provides units and individual Marines with the resources they need to excel.
Summary of role:
The Business Systems Analyst acts as a bridge between Marine Corp business stakeholders and the product team by understanding, analyzing, and documenting functional and technical requirements, ensuring that the solution meets mission and user needs. The Business Systems Analyst gathers and documents requirements, conducts gap analyses, and generates process maps, communicates requirements, and validates solutions against requirements.
Responsibilities:
-Elicit customer requirements using interviews, document analysis, system analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
-Prepare and facilitate elicitation session with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
-Ability to review documentation and the legacy system to identify as-is and to-be system functionality
-Ability to interpret customer business needs and legacy system functionality to create application and operational requirements
-Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
-Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process specifications and workflows according to standard templates
-Communicate and collaborate with both internal and external customers (i.e., developers, product managers, product designers, and subject matter experts) to support Agile ceremonies and ensure requirements are properly implemented
-Translate and communicate complex technical documentation and subject matter between technical and non-technical audiences
-Review software design, change specifications, and plans against process requirements
-Support validation and verification activities to confirm delivered functionality aligns with mission and user needs
-Ability to engage in multiple projects / efforts simultaneously
Requirements/Experience:
-BA/BS/MS degree in related area
-Minimum of five (5) years experience in a business systems analyst or requirements analyst role for software implementation projects
-Strong analytical skills
-Experience working with remote teams
-Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and organizational skills
-Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
-Familiarity with Agile / Scrum Methodologies a plus
-Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance
