Job Description

Field Service Representative - Radar Systems Operations

Our client, a DoD contractor specializing in global stratospheric balloon deployments and radar systems, is seeking experienced DoD contractors to serve as Field Service Representatives (FSR). Once trained, the FSR will deploy, operate, and maintain radar systems in austere OCONUS environments and provide customer training and operational support.

Key Requirements
  • Willing to deploy for a minimum of 90-120 days per rotation
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Open to non-Sioux Falls-based candidates
  • Ability to work >12 hours/day regularly and shift sleep/work schedules as mission demands
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally
  • Professional communication with defense and host nation customers
  • Senior NCO or Warrant Officer with operational staff experience; SOF preferred
  • Valid driver's license


Operational & Leadership Skills
  • Ability to advise, train, and lead customer personnel on system operations
  • Experience creating and distributing SitReps detailing system status, health, and performance


Technical Skills (required or strongly preferred)
  • Technically proficient with strong troubleshooting focus
  • Self-sufficient and adaptable to changing environments
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy
  • Radar operations experience, including target tracking proficiency
  • Radar system troubleshooting and sensor calibration capabilities
  • Air-surveillance awareness with knowledge of RF fundamentals
  • Clutter and interference recognition skills
  • Proficient with Linux command-line and administration (training available, experience preferred)
  • Strong Windows OS troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with experimental/prototype software and ability to communicate accurate vs. erroneous behaviors
  • Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, Google Earth, TAK)


System-Specific Knowledge (training provided; prior experience strongly preferred)
  • FAA/ICAO unmanned free balloon procedures (Part 101, U.S. NAS, and applicable international regulations)


Compensation & Benefits
  • Global / OCONUS deployments (non-Sioux Falls candidates welcome) Type: Full-time, deployable (90-120+ day rotations) Salary: $180,000-$200,000 (all travel and per diem for meals covered)
