Job Description

GovCIO is seeking a ServiceNow MID Server Administrator to support the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) Team in providing services to the United States Coast Guard (USCG). This role is primarily responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of ServiceNow MID Servers that enable secure communication between the ServiceNow platform and on-premises or cloud-based infrastructure. This role is critical to supporting CMDB accuracy, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, and third-party integrations. This position will be 100% remote.

Responsibilities

As a ServiceNow MID Server Administrator, you will serve as a dedicated technical resource for supporting the health, security, and performance of the MID Server infrastructure. You will work alongside infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity teams to ensure consistent, secure, and automated system visibility. Key responsibilities include:
  • Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow MID Servers across multiple environments to support Discovery and integrations.
  • Monitor MID Server health, performance, availability, and end-to-end connectivity to ensure stable platform operations.
  • Manage MID Server lifecycle operations including upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and security certificate renewals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex MID Server communication, credential, firewall, routing, and connectivity issues.
  • Support ServiceNow Discovery by configuring schedules, credentials, IP ranges, and network access requirements.
  • Work with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and server administration teams to ensure MID Server functionality and compliance.
  • Configure and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise tools such as MECM/SCCM, Tanium, SolarWinds, SNMP devices, Active Directory, and cloud platforms.
  • Support Service Mapping, Event Management, ITOM Visibility, and other platform capabilities requiring MID Server connectivity.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, architecture diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
  • Monitor Discovery and integration logs to identify failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues.
  • Coordinate firewall requests, DNS requirements, service account management, and certificate management activities.
  • Assist with CMDB population, reconciliation, data collection, synchronization, and data accuracy initiatives.
  • Participate in troubleshooting sessions, incident response activities, and root cause analysis efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, least-privilege access controls, and government/organizational standards.
  • Provide recommendations for MID Server scaling, redundancy, high availability, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills & Experience

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security).
  • Experience deploying, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting ServiceNow MID Servers across complex enterprise systems.
  • Practical technical experience supporting ServiceNow ITOM workflows, Discovery schedules, and CMDB data consistency.
  • Comprehensive operational understanding of secure communication baselines, firewall requirements, and certificate management.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting credential behaviors (Active Directory, SNMP, SSH, WMI), network boundaries, and multi-domain integration pathways.
  • Proficiency in monitoring infrastructure health, reviewing integration logs, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise serialization, Windows/Linux server administration, network protocols, and cloud environments.

Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs or related federal civilian agencies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise service management architectures, federal engineering frameworks, and command structures.
  • Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, CIS-Discovery, or CIS-Service Mapping).
  • Understanding containerization and orchestration platforms paired with automated infrastructure patterns.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, software-defined infrastructure, and secure hybrid-cloud environments.

Posted Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
