Title: AOG- Assembly Mechanic - (37457330)
Client: Boeing/ Spirit
Location: Wichita, KS (onsite)
Duration: 3 Months+ Contract to Hire
Duties:
Must have their own tools and tool box.
A&P license ( preferred) (Good to have)
Phone Interview will be conducted for shortlisted candidate.
Notes:
• Removing and replacing Large airplane structures
• These are not bar-line mechanics; they are true AOG mechanics who would need to bring their own tools/rolling toolbox
• Rapid Response is needed for all major skin changes
• Need to be willing to work 7 days/week
Job Description:
• Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect and complete precision and other structural and system components, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures. Functional test and correct, fit, form and function of assemblies and components.
• Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information.
• Use shop mathematics and precision measuring and/or test instruments to complete work assignments and functional test assemblies and components.
• Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
• Verify work performed is per work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specifications. Identify discrepancies found per applicable procedure.
• Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
• Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., where applicable, replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).
• Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across isle, using shop-assigned equipment as required, and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within a building.
• Perform work within allotted schedules.
• Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees at all classification levels.
• Assist in the training of other assembly personnel in assembly, installation and inspection techniques.
• Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified. Level A1.
• Verifies dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic measurement tools and, relative to these inspection duties, initiates and documents corrective action for programming issues and other problems.
Employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform in all of the general functions of the Assembly Mechanic listed below:
• Sealer Assembler, Sub-Assembly Assembler/Installer Structures Inspection to include the following:
1. Maintain required personal certifications.
2. Perform complete inspection, including first part review of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies.
3. Initiate and document any non-conforming condition for Material Review Board action.
4. Perform process surveillance to assure compliance with requirements.
5. Prepare and maintain quality records.
• Setup and operate conventional and Computerized Numerical Controlled(CNC) fastening equipment, similar to Multi-Task Gantry Riveter’s(MTGR’s), Brotje’s , C-Frames, IPAC’s etc., to assemble components in accordance with engineering specifications, and/or the employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform in two or more of the specialties listed below: Assembly/Installation Doors Integral Fuel Cell Sealing Precision Bench Assembly Pressure and vacuum testing
• Provide high-level technical support and leadership relative to assembly and installation.
