Job Description



As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Directs, develops, and performs multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating, and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA)goals and mission.
  • Advising Foreign Military Sales (FMS) organizations within the MDA on matters related to developing the Total Package Approach to Letters of Offer and Acceptance(LOAs) for current and future FMS Cases.
  • Identifying the specific requirements for funding, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the FMS Program Manager's cost, schedule, and performance objectives, correlating objectives with Program plans to assure the required logistics support is provided at the right time.
  • Ability to coordinate and evaluate logistics support in consideration of the 12 Integrated Production Support (IPS) Elements (product support management, design interface, sustaining engineering, maintenance planning and management, support equipment, manpower and personnel, information technology systems continuous support, facilities and infrastructure, packaging, handling, storage and transportation, technical data, training and training support, supply support) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) and FMS policies.
  • Managing and assigning logistics duties to the FMS logistics team to support spares provisioning, contractors logistic support planning, supply support, transportation, new equipment training, material fielding and post-delivery sustainment functions executed under FMS Cases.

  • This is an acquisition position coded Advanced in Life Cycle Logistics. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 60 months of entry into position.


You may qualify at the NH-04 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH - 03/ GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Applicants are required to meet 3 of the 5 to be qualified.
  • Applying logistics processes, policies, procedures, and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule, and performance for Foreign Military Sales(FMS) major weapon system programs.
  • Researching, planning, coordinating, and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision as it applies to FMS programs.
  • Identifying and applying the concepts, policies, and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and in-service systems during all acquisition phases of the life cycle.
  • Developing and implementing training plans, transportation plans, and fielding activities for FMS cases. - Ability to apply critical thinking and apply best logistics practices to support Foreign partners and the FMS implementing Agency.
