Job Description



  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance of Military Health Systems Acquisition Program
  • Direct operations for the development and execution of acquisition strategies.
  • Plan, analyze, and reviews major programs associated with the acquisition involving information technology, services, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and facilities.
  • Maintain organization structures to improve management.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor testing, implementation, and deployment plans.
  • Prepare and present briefings, reports, recommendations, and plans to senior executives.
  • Conduct pre-implementation evaluations systems to determine cost, configuration compliance, performance and assess potential problems.
  • Exercise the full range of supervisory authority regarding assignment of projects and task.





  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is designated as a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). The incumbent will be required to sign a Tenure Agreement which requires the incumbent to remain in this position for a minimum of 3 years.
  • This Defense Acquisition Workforce (DAW) position requires the incumbent to be Level III certified at time of assignment or able to acquire Level III certification within 48 months of assignment in the DAW career category field of Program Management.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to random drug testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience, which includes experience: 1) Directing acquisition programs for information technology, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals in compliance with agency regulations; 2) Developing IT acquisition strategies; and 3) Supervising subordinates, evaluating performance, resolving complaints, and identifying staff training needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03).
