Job Description



  • You will perform broad management planning, budgeting, and coordinating of work force and resources for the effective implementation of housing facilities program requirements.
  • You will manage execution of the majority of the annual operations and maintenance budget for housing based on known and anticipated requirements.
  • You will support the development and justification of three-year budgetary requirements five-year plans.
  • You will serve in the capacity of advisor to the Department Director of facilities matters.
  • You will recommend, implement and administer housing designations, temporary diversions, inactivation and reactivation, assignments, utilization, occupancy and termination of policies and procedures for public quarters.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.


Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Managing and/or evaluating housing programs, family housing projects, billeting facilities, and coordinating maintenance and/or budgeting operations.
2) Planning, operation, and managing a workforce that supports and handles occupancy, acquisition, housing, furnishing and facility management
3) Interpreting housing regulations, policies, requirements, procedures and recommending solutions to oversee property management of housing facilities programs
