What You'll Do as the Electronic Security Technician with JRC, you will...
- Maintain the secure perimeter through a combination of door lock maintenance, electronic security system maintenance (Lenel and Digital Monitoring Products (DMP)), and support for all new physical security projects for headquarters. Duties may include:
- Maintain security Government Services Administration (GSA) security containers. Install, maintain, and service high security locks such as Lockmaster LKM series meeting Federal Specifications FF-L-2890B and Kaba Mas CDX series locks.
- Install, maintain, and service Lenel OnGuard access control system (ACS), DMP intrusion detection system (IDS), and Milestone Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) video management system components in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- Conduct and record results of the semi-annual intrusion detection system testing
- Complete detailed and accurate as-built, testing, and quality control documentation
- Conduct testing to ensure that all installed equipment and systems comply with the client's and manufacturer's performance specifications outlined in applicable technical manuals, test specifications, and requirements documents
- Gather information on systems and activities used by the government and provide recommendations to enhance internal processes to meet program requirements. Review systems and prepare all-inclusive reports that communicate recommendations to improve systems.
- Provide insight, analysis, and security engineering support for all new security projects, systems, and initiatives. Write new program instructions and provide training to card users. This position requires excellent communication, records management and customer service skills.
- Provide breadth of support services to SSP's Management Support Services Branch including facilities sustainment and new projects. Assist with facility projects to include escort of personnel as needed.
What You Bring to the Table
- Technician certification for LENEL OnGuard
- Must possess and maintain a government SECRET security clearance
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions), which include:
- Regularly required to lift; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Standing; walking; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Using ladders and man lift equipment to inspect devices within crawl spaces, confined spaces, and at elevations.
- Possessing vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Analytic and writing skills to prepare all inclusive reports that communicate recommendations to improve systems.
- Excellent communication, records management and customer service / interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a team environment - and also independently.
- Flexibility to excel in a fast-paced environment and ability to ability to prioritize and support multiple tasks. Capability of taking a task with minimal instructions and exceeding expectations, with strong follow up skills and attention to detail.
- High School/GED with four (4+) years of experience. Equivalent education and experience: Associate degree and (2+) years of experience.
- S. citizenship.
