Job Description
- Oversees employees engaged in a variety of trades (carpentry, plumbing and electrical work, maintenance mechanic mixed skills).
- Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on weekly, a day-to-day or project basis.
- Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and help on difficult work processes.
- Inspects completed work for quality and meeting work order requirements
- Coordinates projects beyond internal capabilities with contractors.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (Tier 3: Noncritical-Sensitive, Moderate Risk).
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) business or travel requirements of 25% of the time.
- Must complete a one year supervisory probationary period.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Lead or Supervise the work of a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. Perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Exercising administrative and technical supervision of maintenance mechanic work activities (i.e., analyzing and making repairs on a variety of equipment and systems [e.g., refrigeration and air conditioning, plumbing, and pipefitting, heating, electrical, electronics, kitchen]); 2) Determining work flow, equipment capabilities, material, skills and amounts of time required to accomplish work operations (i.e., adjustment, repair, or replacement of components [e.g., transformers, motors, electrodes, relays, solenoids, switches, thermostats, rheostats, aqua stats, stack switches, duct stats). Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
