- Serve as the principal technical authority for the CMOS architecture, its complex system dependencies, and underlying global tracking data structures.
- Define the long-term technical roadmap, system design patterns, and platform configurations, ensuring software designs remain compliant with BEA, NDAA, and Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) standards.
- Guide the software engineering team through critical infrastructure transformations, specifically providing technical data and script automations to support the CMOS migration to Cloud One environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of low-level operating system functions, memory management, server-side performance bottlenecks, and distributed database scaling challenges.
- Lead rapid-response surge engineering support to address critical system failures, sudden security incidents, or infrastructure bottlenecks, restoring primary mission functionality within 24-48 hours.
- Champion the program's secure software assurance strategy, overseeing static code analysis audits and reviewing automated code review reports (Checkmarx/ACAS) to ensure all Category 1 and 2 security discrepancies are structurally corrected prior to release promotion.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers (including Developer IIs), establish test automation frameworks to maximize functional testing, and conduct mandatory code reviews to ensure system architecture stability.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a technical equivalent.
- 8+ years of software development experience, specializing in enterprise-level systems integration and legacy defense modernization.
- Advanced knowledge of technologies associated with transportation applications, including Java, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Databases, WebLogic, Glassfish, Docker Containers, and CI/CD/DevOps tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory).
- Deep understanding of RF Hand-Held Terminal technology, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), encryption controls (TLS/PKI), and multi-system web service integrations.
- DoD 8577 / 8140 Compliance (IASAE Level II or IAT Level III baseline certification, such as CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent) prior to contract execution.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP certification).
- Experience with the primary cyber risk and compliance automation tools.
- An active Secret security clearance
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
