Job Description
THOR Solutions is actively seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide full-time technical and professional support services at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) in Norfolk, VA.
This position is contingent upon contract award, anticipated for September 2026.
Typical Responsibilities:
Typical Physical Activity: Mix of desk/computer work in an office environment and visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g. confined spaces, ladders, hatches), or vision.
Typical Pay Range: The anticipated pay for this position in the identified location(s) is $32.04/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA), and will additionally receive $5.09/hour in "health and welfare" benefits.
Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required: This position requires an existing active or interim Secret security clearance prior to hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. A candidate without a clearance but with highly relevant experience may be considered, but still must obtain a clearance prior to hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Typical Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical support by providing correspondence preparation, developing Excel spreadsheets, and performing file creation and recordkeeping duties, compose and maintain various types of correspondence such as phone messages, emails, fax, and letters.
- Provide research and communicate with various entities in and outside MARMC, notify appropriate entities per reporting requirements; draft and prepare documents, reports, and forms for signature pertaining to Military Legal.
- Screen and direct telephone calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence to appropriate personnel.
- Interface with visitors, conduct record checks for signatures required of Military Legal, and answer questions pertaining to services provided.
- Identify and escalate workflow issues and provide administrative support to work directors and compile daily production statics and other reports.
- Manage databases by selecting the guidelines or references that fit the specific case.
- Establish and/or maintain soft and hard copy of various office documentation, research information, and operate modern office equipment and software.
- Prepare special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, and other offices.
- Research requested administrative issues or problems and relay findings to military personnel and management.
- Utilize current task specific software programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate's degree in a related field.
- Three (3) years applicable job-related experience performing Military Administrative duties in a military legal professional office setting.
- Familiar with the current DOD/Navy directives in regard to Military Legal correspondence. Must be proficient in Naval correspondence.
- Experience in creation of documents in Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, and web-based platforms (SharePoint).
- Familiar with the Military Personnel Manual, JAGMAN, and Uniform Code of Military Justice to obtain information to complete tasking.
