Job Description
- Drives trucks (26,000 lb. max gross vehicle weight) with up to six-wheel drive.
- Transports articles and materials throughout the organization's locations, public highways, and for long and short hauls.
- Perform driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations, as required by the workload.
- Place stock into appropriate storage locations in accordance with instructions and established methods.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Tier 3 Positions (Secret): This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-employment and annual physical examinations are required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 70 lb. may be required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license

Basic requirements for Motor Vehicle Operation (WG-5703-06):
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen-out Element): The ability to perform common duties such as transporting medical and non-medical supplies and basic shipping and warehousing delivery tasks without more than normal supervision.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work involves continuous physical activity in walking, standing, stooping, reaching, bending, turning, or moving arms, hands, legs, and feet to manipulate controls. Muscular effort is also required in loading and unloading cargo in handling stock and in the performance of first echelon maintenance on vehicles. Must lift and handle weight of up to 70 lbs. or over. Assistance is required from other Material Handlers when moving moderately heavy items.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed outside in all weather in an enclosed cab and inside a warehouse. The area may be cold or hot, drafty and damp. Is exposed to injury from falling stock, from handling materials and from mechanical equipment. Exposed to contaminated materials, dust, and lint. Required to wear protective clothing, gloves, etc., as required.
