We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sourcer (Contract) to provide immediate top-of-funnel support for a high-priority campaign hiring cleared AI/ML Engineers and Data Scientists. This is a sourcing-focused engagement - not full-lifecycle recruiting. Your job is to find, engage, and qualify cleared technical talent and hand warm, documented candidates to the Talent Acquisition team for interview and close. This is a 1-3 month contract engagement at 40 hours per week, performed on-site in Tysons, VA 3-4 days per week, in support of requisitions in the DMV area and Redwood City, CA, with possible extension based on performance and business need.
The ideal candidate hits the ground running - working with defined pipelines, defined tools, and defined standards - and expects their impact to be measured weekly.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sourcing & Candidate Engagement
- Build a qualified top-of-funnel pipeline for assigned cleared technical requisitions: AI/ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and adjacent roles (software, cloud, and data engineering).
- Execute direct sourcing across ClearanceJobs, LinkedIn Recruiter, Dice, Boolean, etc. for passive and active talent, not applicant review.
- Run structured outreach sequences (email, InMail, phone) and conduct initial qualification screens covering interest, clearance status, compensation expectations, and availability.
- Support pre-event sourcing for scheduled hiring events (information sessions, hiring events) as directed.
Process, Documentation & Reporting
- Hand off engaged, qualified candidates to the TA team with complete notes; log every outreach and candidate response in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) the same day, per CATHEXIS documentation standards.
- Follow the CATHEXIS candidate engagement cadence and release standard, and operate within defined TA/agency pipeline-ownership lanes.
- Report weekly sourcing metrics: outreach volume, response rate, qualified handoffs, and pipeline adds per requisition.
- 3+ years of dedicated technical sourcing experience (sourcer or sourcing-heavy recruiting role), with verifiable throughput - be prepared to speak to weekly outreach volume, response rates, and qualified-handoff numbers.
- Demonstrated sourcing for AI/ML or data science talent - able to read a resume for ML frameworks, data pipelines, and model deployment signals and search on them.
- Expert-level Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter proficiency, with disciplined ATS documentation habits (Workable a plus).
- Strong written outreach - messages that get responses from passive, in-demand candidates.
- Available to start within 1-2 weeks and productive in week one.
- Experience sourcing security-cleared talent (Secret, TS, or TS/SCI); familiarity with ClearanceJobs and cleared-market dynamics.
- Prior contract or surge sourcing engagements with fast ramp-up.
- Familiarity with OFCCP-compliant sourcing and outreach documentation.
CATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. The hourly rate range for this role is $26.00 - $29.00. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline.
