Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) delivers cutting-edge aerospace solutions to U.S. government partners. Our Jacksonville facility supports the CBP P-3 maritime patrol fleet, ensuring aircraft readiness, safety, and compliance with the highest quality standards.



The provides leadership for all quality-related activities supporting the CBP P-3 fleet. You will develop, implement, and sustain quality management systems, accident/incident reporting, and root-cause corrective-action processes. The role demands deep expertise in AS9100, aircraft maintenance, aircraft forms/publications, and a commitment to integrity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.





• Design, modify, and maintain AS9100-based quality evaluation and control systems for aircraft maintenance and production.
• Establish and enforce procedures for accident/incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action implementation.



• Devise and execute inspection, testing, and measurement plans for aircraft components and systems.
• Perform statistical analysis (SPC, Weibull, Pareto) to assess non-conformances and cost impact.



• Lead internal and external audits, identify deficiencies, and drive timely corrective actions.
• Ensure documentation (maintenance records, aircraft forms, publications) meets regulatory and customer requirements.



• Lead a cross-functional quality team, fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives thrive.
• Coach staff on problem-solving, Lean, Six-Sigma, and continuous-improvement techniques.



• Integrate quality metrics into project performance planning, risk management, cost, schedule, and factory accountability.
• Communicate status and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.



• Build trusted relationships with CBP, contractors, and internal stakeholders; ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
• Deliver clear, engaging communications that keep the organization aligned and motivated.



• Champion innovative quality tools and technologies (digital twins, AI-driven analytics) to meet evolving customer requirements.
• Respond rapidly to program changes, adjusting processes to sustain high-quality output.

Bachelor's degree.



• 5 years in aircraft/aerospace or high-tech maintenance or manufacturing quality roles.
• 2-3 years of supervisory/lead experience.



• Proven expertise with AS9100, aircraft maintenance forms, and publications.
• Hands-on experience with accident/incident reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking.
• Ability to conduct statistical analysis and interpret inspection data.



Ability to obtain and maintain Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation (CBP).


  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt or certification.
  • P-3 flightline and aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Depot level aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Quality assurance or quality management experience.
  • Aircraft maintenance technician.
  • Experience with reliability engineering, failure-mode analysis, and risk-based decision making.
  • Demonstrated success influencing change in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Deep understanding of government regulations, complex quality policies, and workflow integration.


Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
