We have an opening for a Requirement Analyst to support the nuclear weapon modernization programs. You will support systems engineering activities, administer requirements management data, generate reports and metrics, and enable data transfer. You will contribute to mission deliverables as a member of a multidisciplinary systems engineering and integration team by working with technical staff, responding to internal and external partners, and applying requirements management policies, procedures, and practices to develop, improve, and implement work activities. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), within the Engineering Directorate in support of the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will
  • Develop and refine data architectures using requirements management and systems engineering tools based on established best practices.
  • Manage programmatic requirements traceability activities and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in data migration from current to future database systems.
  • Author user support documentation for current and future requirements management systems.
  • Collaborate with partners across the nuclear security enterprise to execute robust requirements management activities.
  • Train staff on use of the requirements management database and related systems engineering tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the TSS.3 level
  • Analyze requirements sets for clarity, gaps, conflicts, traceability, and risk, and brief leadership as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues and identify solutions through research and subject matter expertise engagement.
  • Serve as system owner and coordinate with the appropriate applications team to ensure the system software remains current, including identifying when patches or updates are needed and facilitating their scheduling and completion.




  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering technology or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience with a requirements management tool, including administration functions.
  • Experience with database design, architecture, management, and data maintenance.
  • Ability to create process scripts in the requirements management tool and implement them to automate tasks.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a technical support environment, collaborating with others, and recommending process improvements.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills to effectively present and explain technical information.

Additional qualifications at the TSS.3 level
  • Advanced knowledge of a requirements management tool, particularly its administration functions.
  • Significant experience with systems engineering practices and processes, including functional and system analysis, requirements allocation, traceability, and verification and validation.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills necessary to effectively present, explain, and advise team members and management within the LLNL weapons program.

Qualifications We Desire
  • C/C++ programming, plus associated software including MS Office, with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS application.
  • Knowledge of NNSA's Defense Programs Business Process Systems and NAP-401.1A.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience.
  • INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification.

Pay Range

$129,150 - $196,476 Annually
$129,150 - $163,764 Annually for the TSS.2 level
$154,950 - $196,476 Annually for the TSS.3 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
