The MITRE EUCOM and AFRICOM Regional Operations Department (N551) is seeking energetic and talented professionals to join our team working across our sponsors in Europe, Africa, and the US to tackle complex problems. We work to solve the most challenging international security problems across Europe and Africa by strategically partnering with the Department of War to apply advanced capabilities and technology to real world operational needs in the near term and strategically positioning to address longer term critical challenges.
You will be part of a MITRE team working directly with US European Command to plan and integrate cutting edge technology and advanced operational concepts to continually enhance the command's ability to plan and execute non kinetic effects informing development, deployment, and assessment of capability.

Selected candidates will demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrate strong familiarity and skill in one or more of the following areas:
- Lead operational planning, target development and operational employment of cyberspace effects.
- Demonstratable technical expertise in cyber effects integration across all phases of Joint operations.
- Assess current operational capabilities and processes against future Joint operational needs, identify shortfalls in operational plans/requirements, develop capability requirements, evaluate potential solutions and make recommendations to mitigate risks/shortfalls.
- Provide systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities in areas such as (but not limited to) planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and dependencies.
- Support the planning and employment of cyber and non-kinetic effects to advance operational objectives.
- Contribute expertise within Combatant Command operations and the joint warfighter environment to inform mission planning and execution.
Working with the Task Leader, Project Leader and Department Leadership to:
- Develop and shape MITRE task, in close collaboration with sponsors, to focus on mission critical outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, develop strong collaborative relationships with senior USEUCOM sponsors, and help sponsors create executable approaches to complex problems in support of their objectives.
- Define task level outcomes aligning sponsor challenges and MITRE competencies ensuring FFRDC appropriate impactful tasks are defined to support critical sponsor outcomes
- Actively collaborate with other MITRE projects and sponsor activities, to ensure maximum value and impact across MITRE's sponsors.
- Collaborate across the MITRE and government enterprise to shape and accelerate capability delivery to USEUCOM.
- Be a proactive team member and partner closely to support team leadership and staff in task execution
- Present information to both senior military leaders and action officers.
- Identify operational and engineering challenges, potential solutions, and communicate project goals and impacts clearly and effectively.
- Work within a team environment that leverages a robust network of MITRE and other professional connections to engage and collaborate with engineers and planners, subject matter experts, international program (foreign military sales) specialists, and defense acquisition professionals.
- Leverage a pipeline of remote and local MITRE technical expertise, capabilities from the MITRE Platforms, and transitioned IR&D into project delivery when appropriate.
- Partner closely with non-MITRE developers, SETA teammates, and acquisition representatives
- Modify and alter course as the environment and sponsor priorities shift. Understand the power of reach-back and be an effective conduit to bring the talent forward to execute at the right time.
- Comfortably and respectfully engage with both US and foreign nations' senior military leaders and engineers as well as industry leadership.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- BS in a technical discipline, such as Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Computer), Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
- Experience supporting cyber operations planning, target development, and the integration of cyberspace effects across Joint and Combatant Command missions.
- Experience providing systems engineering analysis for systems and capabilities in areas such as (but not limited to) planning, integration, mission analysis, requirements analysis, command and control requirements, and dependencies.
- Familiarity with command and control, mission analysis, and requirements development in support of joint warfighter and cyber mission needs.
- Demonstrated previous team leadership experience
- Prior experience with US Department of War systems of systems integration
- Active DOW Top Secret clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Master's degree in a related field (e.g. cyber operations)
- Experience with Combatant Command capability development and/or operations
- Experience in Command and Control processes, architectures, and systems.
- Additional clearances: NATO SECRET
- Effective and influential oral communications skills
- Strong written communications skills
