As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER (USMILGP GLOBAL OPERATIONS) at the GS-0340-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Oversees dozens of USMILGP offices and hundreds of military, civilian, and locally employed staff at U.S. embassies
  • Makes recommendation to increasing or decreasing USMILGP staffing when analysis supports changing resource requirements.
  • Maintain periodic contact with all key SC personnel on the CCMD staff as well as key staff members in DSC
  • Maintain liaison with policy and program management staffs and other agencies relevant to USMILGP activity and program issues.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of plans, reports, point papers, programmatic statements, briefing material for the annual Congressional authorization and appropriations process for the Title 10 and Title 22, U.S.C. SC programs.

You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Perform analytical country and regionally focused studies to ensure that DoW has the right amount of USMILGP personnel in the right places with the right skills to address enduring SC mission
  • Develop and manage USMILGP implementation policies, processes, and procedures; Evaluate work performance of subordinates
  • Leads hiring actions to fill military and civilian USMILGP vacancies to minimize potential gaps
  • Prepares briefings and written material of any action that may have an impact on leadership decisions
  • Prepare reports for Congress and DoW on the status and staffing of global USMILGP operations

C. You have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and you have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. You have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)



Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
