Job Description



  • You will provide direct technical and administrative security support for the organization as an assistant security specialist.
  • You will ensure all personnel, information, physical, and network security requirements are met without impacting the operational schedule or approved security plans.
  • You will provide long-range focus, planning, and development, serving as a principal lead on the establishment and management of emerging and existing classified programs and projects.
  • You will make recommendations on security policy changes to streamline operations and advise on the impact of new policies, requirements, and priorities.
  • You will advise on technical security problems and challenges and make substantive recommendations for solutions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • May work odd shifts, overtime, recalled to work, or work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.


NH-03 In addition to the basic education requirement your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 grade level or GS-11 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate developing, managing and executing lifecycle security programs for aerospace or Navy Ballistic Missiles programs to correct deficiencies and mitigate risks, ensuring missions requirements are met.

NH-02 In addition to the basic education requirement your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience at or equivalent to the NH-01 grade level or GS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate supporting the development and management of aerospace or Navy Ballistic Missile lifecycle security programs, assisting in the correction of deficiencies and implementation of risk-mitigation procedures.

Educational Substitution for NH-02: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in any field.
