Job Description
The M&S Event Mission Manager (EMM) will support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction), as well as M&S development and test support to other Department of Defense (DoD) Partners. This role requires strong coordination skills, an understanding of modeling and simulation (M&S), exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple technical activities simultaneously.

Responsibilities and areas of support include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide strategic planning support for MDS Test Events, Framework M&S and element M&S risk reduction activities.
- Act as a liaison between the M&S software developers, product integration team, analysis team, test team, infrastructure team, MDA Elements and MDS participants and other stakeholders. Coordinate with the M&S functional areas to consolidate capabilities to meet MDA and MDS Stakeholders' requirements.
- Maintain management awareness of planning activities and issues related to development and testing.
- Participate in and present findings at working group meetings, peer reviews, and other technical interchange meetings.
Duties include:
- Provide project management support for assigned events and activities (projects), to include developing and delivering reporting for leadership review to support decision making on cost, schedule, performance and risk.
- Participate in MDA planning and coordination meetings
- Review test plans and test event schedules to evaluate ability to support across activities, with consideration for allocation of resources required within timeframes.
- Coordinate test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.) with simulation software developers for new capabilities and implementation strategies. Coordinate capture of development schedules, development integration points and test plans.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify M&S engineering criteria to be demonstrated during risk reduction activities.
- Effectively communicate M&S event/activity status updates to stakeholders.
- Plan and coordinate continuous developmental activities for M&S and MDS participants, as assigned.
- Consolidate and track M&S issues through resolution.
- Provide Risk Management recommendations to leadership. Identify and communicate event and/or activity risks, develop mitigation strategies, monitor and report on the impact.
Desired qualifications include:
- Experience working within MDA Ground Test environments.
- Experience with MDA and Other Government Agencies (OGA) demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of overall MDS infrastructure and participants capabilities.
- Experience leading integrated system test events.
- Familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; MDS Element configurations and operations; and DOD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar highly desired but not required.
- Demonstrated Project Management Experience preferred.
- Understanding of cloud testing principles and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern test and evaluation environments, highly desired but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years' experience and a Bachelor degree from an accredited institution; OR equivalent years of experience without degree.
- Active Final SECRET clearance/ TS Preferred and the ability to maintain security clearance
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Travel and Work Schedule
- Travel: This role requires the ability to travel up to 25% to support mission-critical events and meetings.
- Work Schedule: Occasional night and weekend work is expected to meet critical testing schedules and event-driven timelines.
