Job Description
MANTECH seeks a highly talented , customer-oriented to support the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) in executing the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program in the area.
In this role, you will provide critical support across the NSSL program, deeply integrating into the manufacturing quality and readiness lifecycle of launch vehicles. Your work in Quality Engineering and Production Assurance will ensure supplier compliance with quality standards (e.g., AS9100), mitigate risks associated with non-conformances, and establish a robust framework for Launch Vehicle Flightworthiness Certification.
In this role, you will provide critical support across the NSSL program, deeply integrating into the manufacturing quality and readiness lifecycle of launch vehicles. Your work in Quality Engineering and Production Assurance will ensure supplier compliance with quality standards (e.g., AS9100), mitigate risks associated with non-conformances, and establish a robust framework for Launch Vehicle Flightworthiness Certification.
- Data-mine designs, drawings, processes, and procedures to produce quality assessments.
- Produce Quality Program Surveillance, Component Surveillance, and Consolidated Surveillance Reports (tail number reports) on Avionics, Composites, Hydraulics, Propulsion, and Structures periodically, monthly, and as required .
- Identify and document configuration changes, new hardware implemented, and major repairs performed during manufacturing.
- Identify system defect escapements, analyze root causes, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Provide metrics for non-conformances on the final report (e.g., 3 Repair, 1 anomaly, 1 scrap).
- Perform audits, verify "as-built" configurations, and consolidate surveillance reports from various disciplines into a final Article readiness report.
- Bachelor's degree or higher (1.5 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement).
- 8+ years of experience as a systems engineer, technical project manager, or in a related technical area.
- 3+ years of direct experience in aerospace quality or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience involving the manufacture of complex products, including product design, process design, producibility, process qualification/validation, and requirements flow down.
- A degree, professional certification, or proven experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, and production programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and AI platforms used for professional writing or data analysis.
- Direct experience working with Delta, Atlas, Vulcan, Falcon, or similar launch vehicle programs.
- Experience utilizing Jira for issue tracking and Confluence for collaborative knowledge sharing.
- Must have Secret clearance to start - position requires a TS/SCI
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office or facility to access files, office machinery, and equipment.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in all communication situations.
