Job Description

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
- Serves as an IT Specialist and SCADA System Integrator, performing cybersecurity functions to secure and defend data and networks within the Facility Related Control Systems environment; develops plans and procurement packages for SCADA systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Reviews network drawings, firewall rules, and other IT requirements for Pentagon utilities; plans long-range maintenance schedules and capital improvements, such as upgrading PLCs and network topology.
- Acts as the technical authority in designing SCADA networks for the Pentagon reservation; investigates and develops advanced HMI utility applications to create new methodologies for operating and maintaining building utility systems.
- Performs project and contract management for large-scale IT support projects, including defining customer needs, managing technical requirements, and providing customer support services like installation, configuration, and training.

- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI and SAP components. A Special Background Investigation (SBI) is required with favorable adjudication by a determining authority.

- This position requires you to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Form upon entering the position and annually.
- The employee assigned to this position is designated as a MISSION CRITICAL EMPLOYEE. Mission critical employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situations due to adverse weather conditions.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal Service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) which has given me the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties related to the position being filled. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) understanding commercial network design programs to apply their interrelation and function within various environments; 2) applying IT security principles to develop specifications that ensure compliance with security requirements; 3) providing advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems; 4) developing and integrating network systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures; and 5) testing and evaluating methods that install and operate large network programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission..
