Job Description
- You will serve as the Deputy Director and provide administrative support to Aviation Operations.
- You will be responsible for all areas of supply support, supply strategic planning, and all aspects of end-to-end supply chain management.
- You will review program priorities and develop plans necessary to execute the support strategy defined in the program's Acquisition Documentation.
- You will provide oversight and direct system-wide inventory management of assigned items of supply within the broad categories of hull, mechanical, electrical, electronic and ordnance.
- You will oversee provisioning of technical services related to the development of procurement technical data packages, technical item identification and compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
- You will solve problems, introduce and support new programs, and interpret directives from higher authorities.
- You will develop new methods and procedures to resolve problems or improve effectiveness and recommend major program/priority changes.
- You will direct the preparation of budget justification data and provide information related to new programs and objectives with impact on the budget.
- You will have the authority to select, assign, reassign, promote, discipline, set performance standards, appraise performance, and approve performance-based awards for subordinates and key officials in the department.
- You will ensure that subordinates accomplish mission goals and objectives in a timely and effective manner by providing instruction regarding work policies, procedures, and goals.
- You will conduct staff meetings to discuss and resolve operational problems and share information.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Mastery of logistics management principles, including supply strategic planning, requirements determination, material budgeting and forecasting, inventory management, and end-to-end supply chain management for complex systems, preferably within the Department of Defense (DoD) or Naval Supply Systems.
Examples of specialized experience include:
1) Directing a large workforce by setting performance standards, managing budgets, making hiring decisions, handing complex employee relations issues, and developing comprehensive training programs;
2) Applying expertise in weapon systems life cycle support from initial planning and provisioning to final disposal using knowledge provisioning technical data, allowancing, commercial and organic repair processes, and transaction item reporting;
3) Negotiating and communicating effectively with senior executives, high-ranking military officials, and officials from other federal agencies and defense contractors to influence, persuade, and defend major programs and policies;
4) Directing the formulation, justification, and execution of an annual budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with funding requirements.
