Job Description
The DevSecOps Associate Engineer will focus on integration support for vehicle electronic system. General Dynamics is looking to hire a highly motivated Engineer to support our DevSecOps(Development, Security and Operations) team.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
Working with source control tools such as Gitlab, Bitbucket, GIT
Working with Integrated Development Environments such as Eclipse, VS Code, Microsoft Visual Studio
Working with requirements software such as DOORs.
Working with ticketing Systems such as Jira, Gitlab issues
Working with web-based collaboration and knowledge management tools such as Confluence, Gitlab Wiki gdb, or QT is a plus
Working with GDB (the GNU Debugger)
Working with Qt
Working with Agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts.
Working with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps or other system programming is a strong plus
Maintenance of safety critical systems or real time systems is desirable
Maintenance of one or more build environments such as Buildroot, OpenEmbedded, python or in particular Yocto
Working with self-update practices, open source self updaters
Working with security features such as SELinux, verified boot and trusted execution environments is a plus.
Understands and applies the principles and practices in the DevSecOps field
Applies professional and academic knowledge to perform a variety of assignments, most of which are not recurring
Contributes to larger projects and/or owns smaller projects with decreasing guidance
Responds to requests for information, requiring extracting data and performing analysis from a variety of sources
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required.
5-7 years relevant work experience.
CI/CD: Experience with modern CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Jenkins)
Implement GitOps principles for deployment automation
Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
Scripting & Automation:
Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, Go, or other languages) to automate operational tasks
Capable of developing C and / or C++ code that can be maintained and updated over decades.
Ability to troubleshoot low level software issues and distinguish between hardware and software issues
Work closely with developers to improve deployment processes
Advocate for DevOps culture and best practices within the organization
Document infrastructure, processes, and automation scripts
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications
Additional Information / Desired Experience
This position will require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
Be a self-starter and working in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills and able to work with all levels of the organization and across functions.
Organization will be essential due to the volume of tasks and projects and being able to align with tight deadlines and lead times.
Work environment will consist of prototype shop, laboratory, manufacturing, and office.
Able to work overtime when required.
Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required. Works well in team and individually.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills.
Previous experience working on ground combat Vehicles desired.
