Job Description
Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III to support the NIWC PAC Information Technology Management Support Services contract. The Cybersecurity Engineer III investigates, responds to, and reports on detected cyber incidents. This role maintains cybersecurity monitoring operations, performs triage to assess the scope and impact of incidents, identifies vulnerabilities, and recommends remediation strategies. The position proactively searches for threats, conducts root cause analyses, and ensures stakeholders are informed of findings and corrective actions. The role requires in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, incident response best practices, and advanced monitoring tools.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Investigate, report, and respond to cybersecurity incidents using established methodologies and procedures.
· Administer enterprise Elastic environments
· Perform cyber incident triage to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact.
· Identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation.
· Conduct proactive threat hunting using Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, network traffic logs, and host system logs.
· Document all activities and maintain accurate incident records.
· Conduct root cause analyses for incidents and define follow-up actions.
· Provide recommendations to stakeholders to improve cybersecurity posture.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats, trends, and incident response best practices.
· May lead or mentor team members in complex incident response situations.

Required Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
· 3+ years of hands-on administration and engineering with the Elastic Stack
· 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity or incident response.
